Pastigio's 15.6-inch frame treats video more generously than most Frameo frames. Clips from the Frameo app still stop at 15 seconds, as they do everywhere, but a video loaded from an SD card, a USB drive or a Windows computer can run for up to five minutes.

That difference matters for the moments families most want to replay:

A christening or a first communion, filmed on a phone and trimmed to the best five minutes.
A grandchild's piano recital, played in full with the frame's volume turned up.
Old camcorder footage, converted to MP4 on a computer and shown on a screen big enough to enjoy it.

Photos and video arrive in the common formats: JPG, JPEG, BMP and PNG for pictures, MP4 for film. Phone cameras save in these formats by default, though an iPhone set to its high-efficiency mode may need the camera setting changed to Most Compatible before copying files to a card.

Everything imported from a card or drive lands in the frame's 32GB. Pastigio quotes more than 50,000 photos for that space, and the count falls as videos take their share, so keep the five-minute clips for the moments that deserve them.

On a screen this size, film looks its best when it was shot sideways. Upright phone videos play with borders on either side unless the frame is turned on its end.

App and card together. The two routes live side by side. Relatives far away keep sending short clips and photos through the app, while the family member who visits brings the long videos on a card.

Import, Transfer and Export: three menus on the 15.6-inch Pastigio

Every non-Wi-Fi route on the M15R5 starts in one place on the frame: the Manage photos menu. Once you know the three options there, loading or backing up the frame takes a few minutes and needs neither phone nor network.

Pastigio lays the steps out like this:

Import photos. Insert a full-size SD card or USB drive formatted FAT32, go to Manage photos, then Import photos, and choose the files to copy.
Transfer from computer. Connect the frame to a Windows PC with a USB-C cable, go to Manage photos, then Transfer from computer, and send the files from the PC.
Export photos. Insert a card or drive, go to Manage photos, then Export photos, and the frame copies its album out.

The export option is the one families forget and later wish they had used. Every photo the grandchildren sent over the years lives on the frame, and a yearly export to a USB drive keeps a copy safe if the frame is ever replaced.

A few details to have ready:

A full-size SD card, not a microSD, or a microSD in an adapter.
Card or drive capacity of 32GB or less, formatted FAT32.
A USB-C cable for the computer route, bought separately.
A Windows computer. Mac users go through a card or drive instead.

A Full HD picture that fills the frame, portrait or wide

The M15R5's 15.6-inch panel shows 1920x1080 pixels, so a family portrait keeps its detail from the opposite wall, down to a pet's fur and a toddler's freckles. The frame measures about 9.84 by 15.75 inches, a size that sits comfortably on a sideboard or hangs on the wall.

Photos taken on phones rarely match a 16:9 screen exactly. Pastigio's frame lets you pick the main part of a photo and stretch it to fill the frame, so nobody's head is cut off and no black bars run down the sides.

That crop is chosen per photo, so a wide beach scene can stay whole while a close-up of a grandchild fills the screen edge to edge.

The screen turns with the frame, too. Stand it upright for portraits and the photo rotates to match, turn it sideways for group shots and scenery.

Around the slideshow sit the Frameo extras:

React: the person at the frame sends an emoji back to the sender in real time.
Greetings: themed designs for birthdays and holidays.
Albums and collage: group photos by event, or show several at once.
Sleep mode: the screen turns off at set hours to save energy and keep the bedroom dark.
Brightness and volume: set once, then left alone.

Six finishes suit different rooms. Black with White gives a mounted-photo look, All Black suits a modern lounge, Clay White and Striped Gold brighten a light room, and the Natural and Walnut Woodgrain frames match wooden furniture.

Choose the Pastigio when the family works from a laptop, when long videos matter, or when the finish needs to be gold or woodgrain. Choose the BIGASUO when the memory has to hold a lifetime of albums without a clear-out.

Both frames share the same Frameo app, so relatives send photos the same way whichever one sits in the lounge. Both also join 2.4GHz networks, which rules neither out in a typical home. The difference lies entirely in how the family fills the frame when it is not sending from a phone.

How long can videos be on the Pastigio 15.6-inch frame?

Up to 15 seconds when sent from the Frameo app, and up to 5 minutes each when loaded from an SD card, a USB drive or a Windows computer.

Will a microSD card fit the slot?

The slot is for a full-size SD card. A microSD card works in a standard SD adapter.

Can the Pastigio frame export photos?

Yes. Insert an SD card or USB drive and use Export photos in the Manage photos menu to copy the album out.

Does the frame need Wi-Fi?

Only for receiving photos from phones through the Frameo app. Cards, drives and a Windows PC work without any network.
