Stands differ: some screw into the back, some click in, and Pastigio uses a magnetic stand that lets the frame turn between upright and sideways. Fit the stand first, so the frame is steady while you tap through the screens.
Plug the adapter into the wall and the frame. The update step can take several minutes on a frame that has sat in a warehouse. It is the one moment not to unplug anything, because a cut in power mid-update is what leaves a frame stuck on its start screen.
A frame set up in English for a grandmother who reads Polish or Spanish is a common slip. Tap the screen, open Settings and look in the frame's own section, called My frame on current software, for Language. The change applies at once, and photos and friends stay as they were.

The name and location entered during setup are what every sender sees in their Frameo app. A clear pair, such as Nana Rose and Kitchen, saves confusion once cousins with three frames between them start sending.
Both can be changed later in the frame's settings, but getting them right the first time means the family's app shows the right frame from day one.
